SEGUE
Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 6, 2026 / Last revised: October 10, 2026
mathru.net ("we," "us," or "our") has established this Privacy Policy (this "Policy") to describe how we handle users' privacy information in connection with the music player app "Segue" and its related web pages (collectively, the "Service").
Article 1. Privacy Information
- In this Policy, "Personal Information" means "personal information" as defined in Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information, namely information about a living individual that can identify a specific individual by means of a name, email address, or other description contained in such information.
- "History and Attribute Information" means information other than Personal Information, such as the services you use, purchase history, playback and save history, dates and times of use, methods of use, usage environment, IP address, location information, and device identifiers.
Article 2. Information We Collect
The Service collects the following information. Access to location, motion, photos and videos, and notifications is optional, and you can keep listening to music without granting these permissions.
- Account information: The identifier of the anonymous account created when you tap "Get started." If you register an account with Apple or Google, the identifier, email address, and display name provided by that service.
- Location information: Your device's location, collected while the app is in use (including while music is playing in the background). We do not request "Always" location permission.
- Motion and physical activity: Sensor data from your device used to estimate events such as starting to walk, traveling in a vehicle, and arriving at a destination.
- Photo and video reference information: For photos and videos you have granted access to, the asset identifier, capture date and time, media type, and coarsened location information. We never copy photos or videos themselves or send them to our servers.
- Usage history: Songs you have played, saved, or discovered; playlists; scene tags you have selected; records of "Today's journey" (Trail); and your settings.
- Purchase information: Your Premium subscription status, and purchase receipts and transaction identifiers provided by the App Store / Google Play. We do not collect payment information such as credit card numbers.
- Device and diagnostic information: OS, app version, language settings, crash information, performance measurements, notification tokens, and device attestations used to prevent fraudulent use.
- Report information: When you use the song report feature, the type of report (lyrics mismatch or inappropriate content), what you entered, the song concerned, the song title and lyrics displayed at the time of the report, and your account identifier.
- Inquiry information: The content and contact details you enter when contacting us (including the content and contact details sent in notices from rights holders).
Article 3. Location Backups and Information Processed on Your Device
To protect your privacy, the Service processes information on your device whenever possible. The following distinguishes precise-location backups from information we do not transmit.
- Precise location records (latitude, longitude, measurement time and travel routes linked to song playback segments) are backed up to an authenticated server area accessible only to you and cached on your device to display and restore your Trails. Signing in again with the same account restores records within the retention period. Precise location is not sent to public share pages, song-selection tags, analytics or diagnostic logs.
- Photos and videos themselves are not sent to our servers.
- Your history of scene tag selections is not sent to our servers.
Article 4. Purposes of Use
We use the information we collect for the following purposes.
- To detect transition points in your day (starting or ending travel, changes in place type, and time-of-day milestones) and to select and play songs suited to each scene
- To display and sync your saved songs, playlists, "Today's journey," and links to your photos
- To create, authenticate, and transfer accounts, and to verify Premium subscription status
- To deliver notifications you have enabled, such as save notifications and music suggestions tailored to scenes
- To display share pages for Generated Songs and for playlists you have chosen to make public
- To investigate bugs, improve quality and usability, and perform statistical analysis of usage
- To respond to song reports and to make inappropriate content private or delete it
- To prevent and respond to fraudulent use and violations of the Terms of Service
- To respond to inquiries
- To provide information required by third-party services, such as app stores, in order to register the app with those services
- For purposes incidental to the purposes listed above
Article 5. Use of External Services and Recipients of Information

- Anyone can view and play the title, lyrics, and audio of Generated Songs in a browser through a share URL. We may also feature Generated Songs on our websites, social media, and similar channels.

- When we entrust all or part of the handling of Personal Information to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use (including the external services listed in Article 5)
- When Personal Information is provided in connection with the succession of business due to a merger or other reasons
Article 8. Retention Period and Deletion
- App-measured travel routes, location-linked playback history and access to past Trails and unsaved songs are limited to the latest 30 calendar days, including today. Expired precise location records are deleted from the device and server. Saved songs and custom playlists are not deleted by this 30-day limit. This period does not delete original photos or videos on your device, or their original metadata such as capture times and locations.

Article 10. Disclosure of Personal Information
- When an individual requests disclosure of their Personal Information, we will disclose it to that individual without delay. However, we may decline to disclose all or part of it if disclosure would fall under any of the following, and if we decide not to disclose it, we will notify the individual without delay.
- When disclosure is likely to harm the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the individual or a third party
- When disclosure is likely to significantly interfere with the proper conduct of our business
- When disclosure would otherwise violate laws or regulations
- Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, we will not, in principle, disclose information other than Personal Information, such as History and Attribute Information.
Article 11. Correction and Deletion of Personal Information
- If the Personal Information about you that we hold is inaccurate, you may request that we correct or delete it in accordance with the procedures we prescribe.

Article 12. Suspension of Use of Personal Information
If an individual requests that we suspend the use of or erase their Personal Information (a "Suspension of Use") on the grounds that it is being handled beyond the scope of the purposes of use or was obtained by improper means, we will conduct the necessary investigation without delay, carry out a Suspension of Use based on the results, and notify the individual accordingly. However, if a Suspension of Use would require significant expense or would otherwise be difficult, and alternative measures necessary to protect the individual's rights and interests can be taken, we will take those alternative measures.
Article 13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
- We may change this Policy without notice to users. However, for changes that require user consent under applicable law, we will obtain your consent in a manner we prescribe.
