SEGUE
Terms of Use
Effective date: October 6, 2026 / Last revised: October 10, 2026
These Terms of Service (these "Terms") set forth the conditions between users and mathru.net ("we," "us," or "our") for the use of the music player app "Segue" and its related web pages provided by us (collectively, the "Service"). Please review these Terms; you may use the Service only if you agree to all of them.
Article 1. Definitions
- Service
- The application "Segue" provided by us, related web pages such as share pages, and services incidental to them
- User
- Any person who uses or intends to use the Service
- Generated Songs
- Songs, lyrics, and song titles that we create using AI and provide within the Service
- Premium
- The paid auto-renewing subscription offered in the Service
- Device
- A smartphone or other device on which a User uses the Service
Article 2. Application and Amendment of These Terms
- Users must agree to these Terms when they begin using the Service. These Terms apply between the User and us upon the User's agreement. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
- We may amend these Terms as necessary. Unless otherwise specified by us, the amended Terms take effect when posted on this page. If you use the Service after these Terms are amended, you are deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms.
- The handling of privacy information in the Service is set forth in the Privacy Policy.
Article 3. Description of the Service
- The Service is a music player that plays Generated Songs in step with transition points in your day (starting or ending travel, changes in place type, and time-of-day milestones), and lets you save and look back on songs you like.
- Songs you do not save become unplayable after a certain period of time, in accordance with the specifications of the Service. Songs that have become unplayable cannot be restored.
- Detection of transition points is an estimate based on the Device's sensors and location information, and we do not guarantee that it will always be accurate.
- The content of the Service, the number of songs that can be saved, and the features provided may change without notice.
Article 4. Accounts
- Users may begin using the Service as anonymous guests. By registering with an Apple or Google account, Users can transfer their data and purchase Premium.
- Guest data may be lost if the app is deleted or the Device is changed.
- Users shall use their accounts solely for the purpose of using the Service and shall not transfer, lend, sell, or buy them to or from any third party. Any use through a User's account is deemed to be use by that User.
- If a User discovers that their account has been used without authorization, the User shall report it to us and make reasonable efforts to remedy the situation.
Article 5. Premium (Auto-Renewing Subscription)
- Premium is an auto-renewing subscription purchased on a monthly or annual basis through the App Store or Google Play. The price is the amount displayed on the purchase screen and in the store.
- Purchasing Premium requires registering an account with Apple or Google. Guests cannot purchase Premium.
- If a free trial is offered, it automatically converts to a paid subscription at the end of the free trial period. If you cancel during the free trial period, you will not be charged.
- Your subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you will be charged upon renewal.
- To cancel, use the subscription management screen in the App Store or Google Play. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
- Refunds are subject to the terms and procedures of each store. We do not issue refunds except as required by law.
- When your subscription expires, Premium benefits are unavailable. Past Trails and rediscovery of unsaved songs are limited to the latest 30 calendar days, including today. Resubscribing does not restore records outside this period. Saved songs and custom playlists are not deleted merely because 30 days have passed.
Article 6. Handling of Generated Songs
- Generated Songs are created and provided by us using AI and are not the creative works of any particular User.
- Generated Songs and their data are our assets, and we own and manage them. To the extent that copyright or any other rights arise in Generated Songs, those rights belong to us.
- We use Generated Songs to provide them to other Users of the Service, to publish them on share pages, and to feature them on our websites, social media, and video-sharing sites.
- Because Generated Songs are not linked to any particular User, they are not deleted when a User deletes their account.
- We make no warranty regarding the content of Generated Songs, including their quality, the accuracy of their lyrics, or their fitness for a User's expectations or any particular purpose.
- If we determine that a Generated Song infringes or may infringe the copyright or any other rights of a third party, we may stop providing or delete that Generated Song without notice. This may also apply to saved songs. A deleted song is automatically removed from the app even if you saved it, and we will let you know in the app.
- We neither license nor warrant any use of Generated Songs by Users outside the Service (such as recording, reposting, distribution, or derivative use). Any dispute between a User and a third party arising from such use shall be resolved by the User at the User's own responsibility and expense, and we bear no liability for it.
Article 7. Reporting Songs
- Users can report lyrics that do not match a Generated Song, or inappropriate content, to us by using the report button (the flag icon) at the top right of the "Song details" screen of the app.
- We review the content of reports and, as necessary, make the Generated Song or public playlist concerned private or delete it.
- The handling of information sent with a report is set forth in the Privacy Policy.
- Rights holders who believe that a Generated Song infringes their rights may notify us using the method set forth in Notices from Rights Holders.
Article 8. Safe Use
- Do not operate the Service while driving a car, riding a bicycle, or walking.
- When listening to music with earphones or similar devices, keep the volume at a level where you can hear your surroundings and pay attention to your safety.
- Users shall prepare, at their own responsibility and expense, the Device, communication costs, and any other equipment and services needed to use the Service.
Article 9. Intellectual Property Rights
All intellectual property in the Service (images, video, text, programs, and all other information, excluding Generated Songs) belongs to us or to parties that have licensed its use to us. Except as permitted by law or by these Terms, Users may not, without our permission, reproduce, transfer, lend, modify, publicly transmit, publish, or use it for business purposes. The handling of Generated Songs is set forth in Article 6.
Article 10. Prohibited Conduct
In using the Service, Users shall not engage in any of the following conduct, whether intentionally or negligently.
- Conduct that violates laws, regulations, or public order and morals
- Conduct related to criminal acts
- Conduct that destroys or interferes with the functions of our servers or networks
- Conduct that may interfere with the operation of the Service
- Exploiting bugs, errors, or other defects in the Service, or inducing or assisting others to do so
- Using unauthorized tools, tampering with the application, extracting source code or internal data, and any conduct that induces or encourages such acts
- Accessing the Service in large volumes or obtaining songs by automated means
- Collecting or accumulating personal information or similar information about other Users
- Impersonating other Users
- Infringing the intellectual property rights, portrait rights, privacy, reputation, or other rights or interests of us, other Users, or third parties
- Directly or indirectly providing benefits to antisocial forces
- Any other conduct that we deem inappropriate
Article 11. Suspension and Removal of Use of the Service
- If a User falls under any of the following, we may, without prior notice, suspend the User's use of all or part of the Service.
- When the User violates any provision of these Terms
- When unauthorized use of the account is discovered
- When we otherwise determine that the User's use of the Service is inappropriate
- We may make Generated Songs or public playlists private, or delete them, in response to reports or for other reasons.
- Our liability for damages incurred by a User as a result of the measures in the preceding paragraphs is governed by Article 14.
Article 12. Account Deletion
Users can delete their accounts and data from the app at any time. If you are subscribed to Premium, please cancel in the store first. For the procedure, see Account and Data Deletion.
Article 13. Changes to, Interruption of, and Termination of the Service
- We may temporarily interrupt or restrict all or part of the Service due to system maintenance, failures, outages of external services, song supply conditions, or other reasons.
- We may terminate the provision of all or part of the Service after giving advance notice a reasonable period beforehand.
Article 14. Damages and Disclaimer
- If a User causes damage to us or a third party by violating these Terms or by using their own or a third party's account without authorization, the User shall compensate for such damage.
- If we cause damage to a User due to reasons attributable to us, we will compensate for it. However, except in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence, our liability for damages is limited to the total fees for the Service that we received from the User during the 12-month period ending with the month that includes the date on which the event giving rise to the damage occurred (excluding store fees and the like), and only to ordinary damages arising directly. If that total is less than 1,000 yen, the limit shall instead be 1,000 yen.
- If the limitation in the preceding paragraph is not permitted under the Consumer Contract Act or other laws and regulations, the provisions of those laws and regulations shall apply.
- The provisions of this Article govern liability between Users and us and do not limit the rights of any third party.
Article 15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising in connection with the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the district court having jurisdiction over our location as the court of first instance.
Article 16. Contact
